About Us
Hicks Valley Ranch is a quaint little single family dwelling community on prime acreage nestled about a mile and a half just outside of Camp Wood, Texas. We have beautiful Hill Country sunrises and sunsets with scenic hill views, along with local wildlife periodically making an appearance. The local town of Camp Wood has the Nueces River flowing through it, so there are options to fish, swim, kayak or float as long as we have a good rain for the season. Also, locally there is hotel lodging, camp sites, Nueces River Dam, shops and limited restaurants. Hicks Valley Ranch is within a 40 minute drive to Garner State Park to hike or enjoy camping. Also, the surrounding towns such as Leakey, Rocksprings and Uvalde offer a place to visit, shop or dine. If you enjoy beautiful views of the Hill Country or like to gaze up at the starry night skies, Hicks Valley Ranch is the community for you.

We are the ranchers, homeowners, hunters, small business owners, and lifelong residents of these counties — where land is not just property, but a part of our heritage, our freedom, and the backbone of our rural way of life.
American Electric Power (AEP) and CPS Energy have recently proposed the construction of a high-voltage transmission line that could cut through large portions of our counties. This project threatens to disrupt private property, degrade wildlife habitats, reduce land values, impact tourism, and compromise the rural character we’ve worked hard to protect for generations.
